Affiliate Disclosure
BankOfferScout may receive compensation from commercial or affiliate relationships on some pages. This disclosure explains how those relationships should be presented.
How affiliate relationships work
A tracked link can allow BankOfferScout or a commercial partner to identify that a reader arrived from this site. Depending on the relationship, compensation may be generated by a click, completed application or another qualifying action. The existence of a link does not guarantee that the reader will qualify for or receive a product.
Editorial separation
Commercial compensation should not determine factual coverage, source selection or the conclusion of an editorial review. Product comparisons should still surface meaningful fees, restrictions, eligibility and ongoing terms. Where a provider is not a commercial partner, that alone should not exclude it from relevant editorial coverage.
Commercial placement versus editorial content
Advertising blocks and commercial placements should be visually distinguishable from independent explanatory text. A commercial call-to-action may sit beside editorial content, but it should not silently convert the surrounding analysis into an endorsement.
Availability and completeness
BankOfferScout may not have commercial relationships with every provider in the market. For that reason, a commercial list should not automatically be interpreted as a complete list of every available account. Readers should use the wider research structure when completeness matters.
What the reader pays
Affiliate compensation is normally paid by the commercial partner rather than added as a separate BankOfferScout fee to the reader. The provider's own product fees, rates and charges still apply according to its terms and should be checked directly.
Changes to relationships
Commercial relationships can start, end or change. Editorial pages should remain useful even when a relationship ends, which is another reason we separate durable research from individual tracked links or promotional placements.
How commercial links should be presented
Where BankOfferScout is eligible to receive compensation from a provider or partner, the existence of that relationship should not be used to disguise an advertisement as neutral research. Commercial links or placements should be identifiable in context, and editorial copy should remain understandable even if a reader does not click a commercial link. The site may also discuss providers with which it has no commercial relationship.
Commercial availability is not a completeness test. A comparison page should not imply that every relevant UK product is represented merely because several commercial options are shown. Readers may wish to compare BankOfferScout research with providers directly and with other reputable comparison or consumer sources before making a decision.
How compensation relates to editorial conclusions
Compensation can affect the economics of operating a publication, but it should not determine whether an account is described as suitable for a use case. Editorial conclusions should be based on the factors described on the page—such as fees, rate structure, eligibility, access, borrowing cost and practical conditions. If a commercial relationship ends, the underlying explanation should remain valid unless the product facts themselves have changed.
BankOfferScout does not assume that a product is cheaper because a link is commercial, and readers should not assume that using an affiliate link guarantees a particular application outcome, rate or price. Provider decisions, product availability and customer eligibility remain subject to the provider’s own processes and terms.
Important note
Banking products, provider terms and relevant rules can change. Product-specific information should be checked against the current provider material and, where appropriate, the relevant official source before action.
