Chase UK does not currently offer a Cash ISA. Its own ISA explainer explicitly says that Chase and J.P. Morgan Personal Investing do not offer Cash ISAs. Chase does offer ordinary savings, while investment ISAs sit in a separate J.P. Morgan Personal Investing proposition.

No Chase Cash ISA in the current published product range

Chase offers ordinary savings and current accounts; investment ISAs are a different product family. A Cash ISA comparison should use providers that explicitly offer a Cash ISA.

The short answer

Chase UK’s own ISA explainer says Chase and J.P. Morgan Personal Investing do not offer Cash ISAs. That means the useful comparison is Chase ordinary savings versus Cash ISAs from other providers, not “Chase Cash ISA rates”.

What Chase offers instead

Chase offers a current account and an easy-access saver, while J.P. Morgan Personal Investing provides investment products including Stocks and Shares ISAs. These solve different jobs and should be compared separately.

Ordinary savings vs Cash ISA

Ordinary savings interest may interact with your Personal Savings Allowance, while Cash ISA interest is sheltered inside the ISA wrapper subject to ISA rules. The better outcome depends on your rate, balance and tax position.

Do not confuse a Cash ISA with an investment ISA

A Stocks and Shares ISA can offer tax-efficient investing, but the capital can rise or fall. It is not a substitute for a Cash ISA when the goal is capital-stable cash savings.

Money lens: compare the after-tax outcome

Use the same balance and 12-month period. Calculate ordinary savings interest, estimate any tax that would actually be due in your circumstances, then compare that with the Cash ISA return. A tax wrapper has value only relative to the rate gap and your tax position.

Comparison order1. Cash or investment?2. Rate and access3. Tax position4. Transfer/flexibility rules

Cash ISA transfers are a separate process

If you already hold a Cash ISA, use the receiving provider’s formal ISA transfer process where required to preserve the tax wrapper. Moving money manually through a current account can have different consequences.

Access and flexibility still matter

A flexible Cash ISA can allow withdrawals and replacement within the same tax year under its terms. Non-flexible ISAs and fixed ISAs can work differently. Compare access alongside the rate rather than after it.

Liquidity has a pound value even when it is not quoted as a fee

A higher fixed or restricted ISA rate can lose its advantage if you are likely to need the money early. Estimate the cash you may need over the next 6–12 months and keep that portion in an account whose access rules fit the job. The remaining balance can then be compared for yield. This prevents a small rate premium from dictating the treatment of money that must remain available.

For example, an extra 0.20 percentage points on £10,000 is about £20 over a year. If accessing the money early would forfeit more than £20 of interest or create a delay you cannot tolerate, the apparently higher rate may not be the better practical choice.

Build a genuine Cash ISA shortlist

Shortlist providers that explicitly offer Cash ISAs and compare the exact product type: easy access, notice or fixed term. Keep Chase on a separate ordinary-savings shortlist if its saver account suits the job.

Worked example: ordinary savings can still beat an ISA on rate

Suppose £15,000 is available for a full year. A 0.50 percentage-point rate advantage is worth roughly £75 of gross interest over that period. If your ordinary savings interest remains within the tax-free amount available to you, a higher-paying non-ISA saver can still leave you better off than a lower-rate Cash ISA. If tax would be due, the wrapper becomes more valuable and the after-tax calculation can reverse the ranking.

This is why “ISA” should not be treated as a quality label. It is a tax wrapper. The account underneath still needs a competitive rate, workable access and the transfer rules you need. Chase’s ordinary saver belongs in the non-ISA column; Cash ISA products from other providers belong in the ISA column.

Investment ISAs are a different risk decision

J.P. Morgan Personal Investing can provide investment ISAs through the Chase ecosystem, but the value of investments can fall as well as rise. Do not compare an investment ISA’s expected return with a Cash ISA’s interest rate as though they were two versions of the same deposit product. The time horizon, risk tolerance and capital-loss risk are fundamentally different.

If Chase launches a Cash ISA in future, the page should be rebuilt around that exact product. Until then, the correct provider-specific answer is “no Cash ISA currently”, followed by a comparison route into Chase ordinary savings and genuine Cash ISA providers.

Run the tax calculation before paying for the wrapper with a lower rate

The Cash ISA decision is strongest when you compare net outcomes rather than labels. Start with the interest you expect from an ordinary saver, then consider how much of that interest would actually be taxable in your circumstances. Only then compare the net result with a Cash ISA. A wrapper can be valuable even at a slightly lower rate, but the size of that value depends on your balance, rate, tax position and how much of your savings interest is already using any available allowance.

For illustration, if £25,000 earns 4.00% for a full year, the gross interest is about £1,000. At 3.70%, the gross interest is about £925 — a £75 gap before tax. If no tax would be due on the first product in your circumstances, the higher ordinary-savings rate may remain ahead. If tax would reduce the ordinary-savings return by more than £75, the Cash ISA can overtake it. These figures are examples only, not live Chase or competitor rates.

Existing ISA money needs a transfer decision, not just a rate decision

If the cash is already inside an ISA, preserving the wrapper can be more important than moving quickly. Compare whether the receiving Cash ISA accepts transfers, whether it accepts the type and age of ISA you hold, how long transfers typically take under its process, and what happens to interest during the move. Avoid withdrawing first unless you have confirmed the consequences, because a manual withdrawal and redeposit can be treated differently from an official ISA transfer.

Keep investment ISAs on a separate risk track. A Stocks and Shares ISA may suit long-term investing, but market values can fall. It should not be used as a substitute for a Cash ISA merely because both carry the word “ISA”. The product job—cash preservation versus investment growth—comes before the tax wrapper.

Verification checklist

Confirm that the chosen provider currently offers the Cash ISA, accepts the transfer type you need, states the applicable rate and access rules, and provides the protection/eligibility wording you expect.

Questions readers often ask

Does Chase UK currently offer a Cash ISA?

Chase UK states in its own ISA explainer that Chase and J.P. Morgan Personal Investing do not offer Cash ISAs. Product ranges can change, so verify again before applying.

Does Chase offer ordinary cash savings?

Yes, Chase markets a saver account for current-account customers. That is an ordinary savings product rather than a Cash ISA.

Can I open a Stocks and Shares ISA through the Chase ecosystem?

Investment ISAs are available through J.P. Morgan Personal Investing, but they are investment products and are not Cash ISAs. Capital is at risk with investment products.

What should I compare in a Cash ISA elsewhere?

Compare AER, fixed or variable rate, flexibility, transfer-in support, withdrawal rules, maturity handling, minimum balance and deposit protection.

Why does the distinction matter?

A normal saver and a Cash ISA can both hold cash, but the tax wrapper and transfer rules differ. A Stocks and Shares ISA adds investment risk and should not be compared as cash savings.

A provider name in the query does not prove the requested product exists. For Chase, confirm the product category first; only then compare rates, tax treatment, access rules or transfer mechanics.
